ICE is the biggest B2B event in the yacht charter industry; it gathers global and local fleet operators, worldwide charter brokers and all major suppliers of goods and services of the industry. ICE includes B2B meetings, social events and the only yacht charter conference in the world.
On ICE’16 three panels were held; Croatian, Greek and Turkish. Panels of fleet operators present various sailing areas and discus current issues with the audience consisting mostly of charter brokers. The panels presented each their own sailing area; general features, meteorology, current geopolitical situation as well as legal and administrative issues.
Social media and advertising workshops were focusing on trends in advertising and online marketing. The workshop “Added Value vs. Discounts” proved to be a hit as it is a needed revolution in yacht charter sales. The most visited workshop was titled “digital or dead”. It argued the fast-changing position of charter brokers as the trends are favoring booking portals and also pointed out the dangers of the notorious last-minute trend enabled through booking technology.
